Position Summary

In this role you will manage, direct, and coordinate the overall day-to-day manufacturing functions.  Full accountability to assure company production objectives are met and are consistent with company-set KPIs relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Engagement.  Responsible for cultivating an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible team atmosphere focused on exceeding objectives through teamwork and a continuous improvement mind set.

Responsibilities

Strategy and General Management

*Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimizing costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are always maintained.

*Control quality of product and cost of production through evaluating, recommending, and implementing improvements in methods and processes to increase quality and productivity.

*Conduct gap assessments of skills, processes, capacities, and capabilities, within the department, and implement robust systems to enhance production capabilities and mitigate risks.

*Participate in long-range plant expansion, conversion, staffing, and equipment planning.

*Develop and implement policies and standards to ensure compliance with organizational, OSHA, environmental, and various regulatory agencies and directs/supervises the application of such policies.

*Update production plans and ensure the target productivity level is achieved on a daily basis.

*Provide input towards development and alignment of manufacturing budgets and forecasts.

*Utilize problem-solving methodologies including root cause analysis and data analytics.

*Participate in the review of operations excellence targets and drive for sustained results.

*Manage, run Tiered meetings to provide daily updates to team and management.

*Stay informed of developments and trends in manufacturing and drives actions to improve velocity through the facility.

People and Relationship Management

*Mentor, coach, and develop a high performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements.

*Communicate and liaise with other departmental managers regarding throughput of stock to ensure production targets are met.

*Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained.

*Work with other team members and department managers on the application of methods and production standards to enhance the current production systems.

*Partner with quality and R&D to improve and provide the highest quality product.

*Maintain and support prescribed programs of employee relations, training, and development.

*Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact.

*Conduct regular performance evaluation, review, and approve recommendations of employee matters and compensation changes.

*Ensure compliance with OSHA and ISO procedures and being an active part of the internal audit process.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

*Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, operations management, business administration

*5+ years of plant level direct leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

*5+ years of experience managing other supervisors/leads and other direct reports

*Proficient with Lean methodologies such as TOC, TPM, Visual Factory and/or Tiered management

*Proven positive result in monitoring and managing achievement of KPIs

*Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite and ERP systems

Preferred Qualifications

*Experience working in CNC machining environment

*Experience Leading Kaizen events

*Lean Manufacturing Certification

*6-Sigma Certification

*Project Management Certification
